The Big J® was formed in the late 1990s by self-confessed juice anorak and life long teetotaller Josephine Beach.

"As a kid, when the word 'smoothie' implied a rather charming man, a marathon was something you ate and fat-free meant you were out of lard, I would whiz up fruits, eggs, milk, yoghurt and anything else I could find in my mum's blender to make mad concoctions just for fun. As an adult consumer, I sought beverages that would offer the same taste and fun, I found that at the time they were non-existent" The Big J® was born...

There are many successful female entrepreneurs in the UK, yet most are not well known. This book shares the inspiring stories of ten successful women with lessons on overcoming challenges, gaining motivation and turning your dreams into reality.

Secrets of Successful Women Entrepreneurs: How Ten Leading Business Women Turned A Good Idea Into A Fortune published by Lean Marketing Press, looks into the incredible journeys of 10 women, from varying ethnic and social backgrounds as they took each of their "good ideas" to multi-million pound household names while still juggling their family, social life and kids.

Research in 2004 showed that just 14% of businesses were wholly owned by women but encouragingly, numbers are on the increase. The UK government introduced a Strategic Framework outlining a number of priority areas aimed at accelerating the process of business start-up. One of these priority areas is to provide role models. There are loads of books about male entrepreneurs but successful women seem to have been completely overlooked. Hopefully my book will redress the balance a bit and inspire more women to start a business.

The book finishes with hints and tips for all aspiring female entrepreneurs of the future as it breaks down the mindset and approach of these successful women into Seven Steps To Success. A proportion of the profits from the sale of each book are donated to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, with the aim of inspiring young people to become tomorrow’s entrepreneurs.

Author, Sue Stockdale is a motivational speaker, successful business woman and record breaking explorer. She was the first British woman to walk to the Magnetic North Pole in 1996 and has represented Scotland in athletics and cross country events. For more info www.missionpossible.co.uk.
